What I ate this week #3

Tough week on the food front. No inspiration, no fresh groceries, no snacks — which meant problem-solving went down to zero. A big mid-week grocery delivery was supposed to save me. Despite spending $150, it somehow still managed to feel like I had nothing to eat.

Most ADHD meal of the week

I even ordered Uber Eats the same day the groceries arrived. The food showed up and I couldn’t face it. I shoved the cold things in the fridge, and picked over the rest for 24 hours. The Uber Eats didn’t hit the spot either. That was a no-win night.

Biggest food fail

Teeth grinding in my sleep is worse on days I take Vyvanse and I woke up from a pounding headache at dawn. Panadol on an empty stomach then added powerful nausea to the mix. I went for vegemite on toast, only to discover that the butter had turned. Not fully rancid, but definitely wrong. Bad, bad, bad. I managed to get a coffee in and half a baby cucumber which I ended up sharing with the dog because even that was too much.

Biggest win

After that fiasco I did at least review my groceries and reset my fridge. I’ve changed how I organise things now — I’ll share the new system in an upcoming post.

Worth sharing

This one was a surprise hit:

  • Chicken thighs

  • Olive oil

  • Lemon juice

  • Salt + cracked pepper

  • An obscene amount of garlic

Toss it all in a baking dish, drizzle with a little more oil, add extra cracked pepper, and bake until just cooked. No measurements because yolo. I had it with broccoli, zucchini, and a microwave potato. Simple, comforting, and the only meal that truly hit the spot this week.

P.S. forgot to take a photo so here’s some citrus I dehydrated one Christmas.

Overall: 1 shrivelled lemon out of 5.
